Must the Light Spot Be Circular?
The shape of the white light is determined by the profile of the laser incident on the FCC. Blue Lake’s in-house developed diffractive optical elements (DOE) alter the light distribution of the laser spot via nanoscale grating etching, enabling a wide variety of beam shapes.
Beam spots are not limited to circular forms; they can also be rectangular, elliptical or elongated. Elliptical beam spots are used for high-beam illumination in automotive headlamps, and line-shape beam spots are deployed for machine vision applications.
